Videography/Film Adjunct Instructor (MGD and FVM)
Description

Classroom Instruction:
 Required to meet all class periods and start and end classes promptly. Teach assigned curriculum and make use of required texts and materials, as well as, following department policies and procedures. Provide students with a complete syllabus before the first day of class that includes information such as course description, learning outcomes, assignments, grading policies, tentative schedule and contact information. Provide data on student attendance (no-shows, last day of attendance, etc.), promptly. Use technology to facilitate learning including meeting the required minimum standards for the use of the College learning management system Desire2Learn (D2L).

Student Assessment: 
Maintain updated and accurate grading records in D2L and submit all final grades by the due date in the college student information system, Banner. Provide consistent and timely feedback to students regarding progress and grades on assignments.

Course Preparation: 
Prepare for each class and consider learning strategies that address diverse learning styles and a diverse community college student population. Class content and assessment methods should relate to course objectives and topical outline.

Communication:
Provide timely feedback to students and RRCC staff during the class term and for at least one week after grades are submitted. Attend department staff meetings throughout the semester and Department Open House as scheduled. Stay in communication with Department Chair.

Typical Work Schedule:
VAMA courses are scheduled in a variety of time frames and modalities. Instructors could teach from 1-4 courses (3 credits) per semester. The courses can be face to face, remote, online or hybrid. Most courses are full-term (15 weeks) and meet once or twice per week.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in film/video media, multimedia graphic design, or a closely related field.

Has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential including 2000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years.
