Position Summary: The Student Engagement and Retention Coordinator is an integral member of the Student Affairs team and primarily manages student communication and referrals to support students in their success at the College. Working through an equity lens, the Coordinator’s work involves the assessment and utilization of sensitive information and interacting with vulnerable, underserved, and minoritized communities. This position is expected to develop professionally in diversity, equity, and inclusion and provide culturally appropriate student support strategies to sustain the college’s value of inclusion. Occasional evening and weekend commitments will be required.
Description of Position
In collaboration with other Student Affairs team members, develop and implement communication campaigns and interventions geared toward students potentially at-risk for non-persistence.
Plan and implement program activities, working collaboratively with all college support services including recruiting efforts.
Monitor student progress and make recommendations.
Coordinate small group activities, cultural trips and 4-year college transfer trips for students and document their purpose and results.
