The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Senior Programmer Analyst to join our Applications Development team at the System Office IT department. In this role you’ll be responsible for analyzing, designing, documenting, reviewing, and testing complex functions, modules, and programs created in one or more designated programming languages. The Senior Programmer Analyst participates in project planning development by facilitating and tracking the definition of a project scope, goals, deliverables, tasks, risks and resource requirements. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Quality Assurance Analysts, and the System and Database Administrators to test code and promote code through the various environments.

Duties Include:

• Create programs, modules, or functions from detailed technical specifications or similar information while following established programming standards including naming conventions and formatting.
• Perform testing and review modules and functions for performance improvements.
• Participate in groups developing, reviewing, and enhancing programming standards and conventions and recommend ongoing process improvements in change management, development standards, development, and project management methodologies.
• Conduct code reviews and other walkthroughs.
• Perform unit testing on programs/functions and work with others to contribute to test plans.
• Provide after hours on-call support for critical development and application issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field from an accredited college or university. Relevant education/experience in the appropriate technical and management areas may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
• Two years’ experience with Software Development Life Cycle(s).
• Experience in project management and various Methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, XP).
