The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Senior Programmer Analyst/Project Lead to join our CCCS-IT Applications Development team at the System Office. This position will be working specifically on the transition from CCCOnline to Colorado Online @ but may assist with other projects as needed. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the analyzing, designing, documenting, reviewing, and testing of complex functions, modules, and programs created in one or more designated programming languages. You’ll be leading the setting of standards, policies, and procedures, as well as coaching other team members on development techniques and standards. This position facilitates and tracks the definition of the Colorado Online @ project’s scope, goals, and deliverables and also defines project tasks and resource requirements. Duties Include:

• Develop programming standards and methodologies. Recommend ongoing process improvements in change management, development standards, and project management methodologies. Assist Director of Applications Development in implementing methodologies.
• Perform performance testing and review modules and functions for performance improvements.
• Provide after hours on-call support for critical development and application issues.
• Consult with clients and project managers to analyze business needs for specific projects.
• Evaluate requirements and develop and design complex programs, modules, or functions and design relational databases.
• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables. Develop project plans and define project tasks and resource requirements. Track project deliverables and provide direction and support to project team.
• Provide a key role in the day-to-day development operations in the development area.
• Lead or co-lead development projects and prepare technical concept designs and implementation details.
• Provide guidance and coach other development team members in emerging technologies. Provide ongoing support and training to other team members in existing technology.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university. Combination of relevant education and/or experience in the appropriate technical and management areas may be considered as a substitute for the degree.
• Two years’ experience with Software Development Life Cycle(s).
• Two years’ experience in project management and various Methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, XP).
