RRCC has two campuses: our main campus in Lakewood, Colorado and our newly expanded campus in Arvada, Colorado. This position is located on the 140-acre, beautifully landscaped, Lakewood main campus, high in the foothills, with views looking along the Front Range to Boulder and beyond. Just minutes from downtown Denver, with dedicated RTD light-rail and bus stops, commuting is quick and easy. At Lakewood, RRCC offers employee access to an on-campus coffee shop and cafeteria, an on-campus children’s center, health clinic, recreational facilities, and a 38,000 square foot recreation center, complete with climbing wall, a large gym with basketball courts, state of the art fitness equipment, and full locker rooms. RRCC also offers tuition assistance for full-time employees and most dependents, for classes within the 13-college, state-wide Colorado Community College System.
The Rocky Mountain Education Center within the Department of Workforce Services provides non-credit training opportunities designed to fit the needs of employers, industry, and the regional community. RMEC Adjunct Instructors provide instructional duties for the College and RMEC in their respective areas of expertise. They report to the Dean of Workforce Services and do not have any supervisory responsibilities. Job duties and responsibilities include providing instruction, student assessment, course prep, some instructional design and other related instructional duties. Instructional delivery may include face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Classes may be held days, evenings, and weekends of variable durations.
At the RMEC, we strive to build active and engaging learning environments for our students. We seek instructors with a commitment to their students, a continuous pursuit for creating dynamic learning environments, and a passion for lifelong learning. The instructor must be patient, respectful, and responsive to students. We expect instructors to communicate their expectations for acceptable work to students at the onset of a course and evaluate achievement to that standard. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as the goals of the program, department, and college as a whole.
This posting will be used to fill multiple part-time Instructor vacancies with different discipline expertise. Finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online courses.

Description of Position
Classroom Instruction:
Required to meet all class periods and start and end classes promptly. Teach assigned curriculum and make use of required texts and materials. Provide students with a complete syllabus or outline before the first day of class that includes information on course description, objectives, assignments, grading policies (if graded), and contact information. Collect sign-in sheets and provide data on student attendance (no-shows, last day of attendance, etc.) promptly. Use technology to facilitate learning including meeting the required minimum standards for the use of the College learning management system Desire2Learn (D2L), if included in coursework. Provide leadership and communication to corporate clients during any off-site trainings.
Student Assessment (Grading):
Maintain updated and accurate grading records in D2L or similar format and submit all final grades by the due date in the appropriate student information system. Provide consistent and timely feedback to students regarding progress and grades on assignments.
Planning:
Prepare for each class meeting and consider active learning strategies that address diverse learning styles and a diverse community college student population. This may include group activities, field trips, learning by doing, simulations, worksheets, and other means for the practice of applied learning. Class content and assessment methods should relate to course objectives.
Communication:
Respond timely to students and RRCC staff within 24-48 hours during the class term and for at least one week after grades are submitted. Attend department staff meetings throughout the semester as scheduled. Provide updates to the Dean or Training Coordinator.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: A degree or relevant industry certification from an accredited institution or in a closely related field. Substitution: Full-time professional industry experience directly related to the position duties may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis. Minimum five (5) years of industry related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
A degree from an accredited institution in field of instruction. Relevant and current industry certification. Five (5) years of industry related experience.
