The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Program Director for Work-based Learning & Apprenticeship Alignment to join our Career & Technical Education (CTE) team. Examples of Duties
In this position you will facilitate the curriculum design process for all CTE pathways in which employers (who are Registered Apprenticeship sponsors) have identified competencies that should be included in an Education and Training plan as part of a registered apprenticeship program. You will work with CTE educators across various disciplines to design the new state level pathways with support from other CTE Program Directors at System Office.
- Work to align the high school CTE system and the registered apprenticeship system and to expand the number of aligned pathways for programs and occupations, including building awareness of opportunities for current and prospective participants.
- Assess and refine components and requirements of work-based learning programs to align them with industry needs.
- Collaborate with school counselors, career field teachers, Special Education, and Virtual Reality teachers and staff to ensure program decisions are made with equity and inclusion in mind.
- Establish program objectives, including student self-knowledge and career exploration and planning, and design programs with mechanisms for ongoing evaluation and refinement.
- In collaboration with Apprenticeship Colorado, engage with industry partners, including Registered Apprenticeship sponsors, to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment to collaboratively design CTE-connected registered apprenticeship programs.
- Lead efforts to align CTE and registered apprenticeship including conducting a landscape analysis, stakeholder engagement, mapping CTE programs and existing registered apprenticeship programs, and establishing advisory committees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
- Three years of career and technical education administration (or equivalent leadership experience in any of the following industries: infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, education, and health care), or experience with work-based learning or apprenticeships.
