The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Professional Development & Learning Specialist to join our System Office’s Human Resources team. We’re looking for someone who is able to see the big picture and obsess about the details when it comes to training adult learners. Examples of Duties

In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting and cultivating a positive culture that encourages ongoing learning and professional development. The person in this role must build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation across teams with an aim to attract, engage, and develop a diverse staff. You’ll be responsible for the planning, development, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation of professional learning and development opportunities for the CCCS System Office staff. This role also supports and leads efforts on system-wide leadership development and streamlining learning and development initiatives across the System.

  • Use applicable adult learning and organizational behavior theories and models to assess, design, develop, and implement presentations and training materials that are clear, user friendly, professional, and accommodate various adult learning styles.
  • Lead HR personnel and Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the development of training in support of HR initiatives, and system-wide programs and processes.
  • Plan, develop, and provide learning and development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • In conjunction with system stakeholders, design, implement, revise and deliver leadership programs at CCCS with the goal of developing current and potential leaders and incorporating CCCS succession planning tools.
  • Coordinate efforts to implement succession planning strategies at CCCS, including the development of career pathing programs and coaching/mentoring initiatives.
  • Consult with managers to identify gaps in learning and/or performance among their teams and partner with them to determine solutions based on gaps identified.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Management, Training, Organization Development, Adult Education, or related. Equivalent professional experience, year for year, may substitute for the degree.
  • Two years of professional experience in teaching, organizational development, training, or adult education that includes experience designing, developing, and/or delivering a variety of learning and development activities.

  • Proficiency in using learning tools like Camtasia, Articulate360, Yuja, etc.
  • Experience in managing a learning management system (LMS).

Work Location/Travel Expectations:

  • This position is located at 9101 E Lowry Blvd, Denver, CO 80230.
  • Occasional travel within the state as needed.
  • Alternative work arrangements, including flexible schedules and remote work may be available. All work must be completed in the state of Colorado.
