The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Learning Designer to join our Colorado Online Learning Design team. Examples of Duties
In this role you will guide and collaborate on the design and production of high quality, universally designed, digitally accessible online courses, learning objects, course components, and training materials. You’ll be responsible for providing best practices based on instructional design models and principles, envisioning and creating audio/video/graphic media and content to be used in online courses and training for Colorado Online @ and CCCS.
- Perform learning and instructional design tasks to ensure course alignment, currency, and accuracy including developing course maps, assuring quality, evaluating and executing revisions requested in a Course Maintenance Form, and making adjustments to the course shell.
- Convert existing instructional material into online learning media.
- Work with faculty and internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop course curricula and online course materials.
- Collaborate with academic teams in the development and redevelopment of engaging online courses, digital assets, and learning objects that reflect CCCS’s quality standards.
- Identify and/or develop digital elements to support student engagement and learning outcomes in online courses.
- Develop and maintain effective instructional design models for CCCS using effective practices in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and institutional ADA guidelines.
- Advise academic team members on user-centered online course design, copyright, and accessibility compliance.
- Build needed course shells, create multimedia, develop design elements in collaboration with academic affairs and academic technology teams, faculty, content experts and/or college partners.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a field related to Instructional Design. A Master’s degree in another field, combined with a certification in instructional design, will also be accepted.
- Experience with rapid eLearning applications, such as Articulate, Pressbooks, and Camtasia.
- Experience developing and designing online courses and training that includes working with faculty and other content experts, preferably in a remote environment.
- Experience troubleshooting issues with Desire2Learn or other LMS.
