The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Learning Designer to join CCCS to work with faculty and subject-matter experts systemwide. In this position, you’ll be an important part of Colorado Online @ and guide and collaborate on the design and production of high quality, universally designed, digitally accessible online courses, learning objects, course components, and training materials. You’ll envision and create audio/video/graphic media and content to be used in online courses and training. Duties Include:
- Collaborating with discipline faculty in the development and redevelopment of engaging online courses, digital assets, and learning objects that reflect CCCS' quality standards.
- Developing web accessible and ADA compliant interactive digital content and training materials with user experience design principles.
- Develop and maintain a quality assurance framework and tools (rubrics, checklists) and effective instructional design models for CCCS using effective practices in Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Perform accessibility checks and remediate basic documents, websites, and multimedia incorporated into course design.
- Advise academic team members on user-centered online course design, copyright, and accessibility compliance.
- Serve as internal subject matter expert on Quality Matters™ standards and processes for course design quality assurance.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a field related to Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Learning Design, Educational Technology from an accredited college or university. Additional relevant experience will be considered as a substitute for degrees in a non-related area.
- Experience with rapid eLearning applications, such as Articulate360, Pressbooks, and Camtasia.
- Experience developing and designing online courses and training that includes working with faculty and other content experts, preferably in a remote environment.
- Experience building online courses and troubleshooting issues with Desire2Learn or other LMS.
