Faculty Professional Development and Student Research Coordinator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Guide faculty in development of research projects and/or service or experiential learning activities
for students in the fields of science and humanities.
2. Assist students with the development of research projects, service-learning, or experiential
learning activities.
3. Design professional development opportunities that focus on culturally responsive teaching and
non-cognitive teaching practice for faculty.
4. Identify engaging professional development facilitators; coordinate scheduling of events and
conduct meaningful participant evaluations that measure outcomes for success.
5. Assist AIM Grant staff to coordinate campus events that ensure student success, such as
orientation, open houses, and other welcoming events that are focused on increasing student
retention.
6. Maintain accurate records and documentation that reports on participant attendance, student
progress, performance, increased opportunities based on need, and overall data collection that
ensure delivery of programs that benefit students.
7. Submit monthly time and effort reports.
This position is funded through a Title V, Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program (DHSI), for
five years beginning October 1, 2020. Any grant funded position with future employment will be
contingent upon funding.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree
• Previous teaching experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A demonstrated commitment/evidence of sensitivity in working with Hispanic, low-income, and
first generation students, preferably in a college setting

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous teaching experience at the college level
• Experience assisting students with undergraduate research and/or service or experiential learning
activities
• Experience developing and leading culturally-relevant trainings
• A demonstrated commitment to rural community colleges
