GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of the ELL Navigator position will be to support ELL students through their academic, workforce and life skills pathways to success.
Duties and Responsibilities
The position will incorporate three types of services.
Marketing and Intake
Communicate with potential students to explain and explore ELL options.
Collaborate with staff to identify college and workforce pathway requirements.
Communicate pathways to students and employers.
Provide check-ins to students during the enrollment process.
Monitor sign up and revise intake, sign up, and class selection forms.
Create and give presentations to potential students.
Write clear messages for marketing, the web site, email, and orientations.
Success Coach
Work with college and workforce partners to support students in selecting a pathway and identify barriers that may prohibit success.
Coach students to meet goals by developing concrete action plans.
Support advisors on college admissions, registration, and financial issues.
Track and maintain records on student progress to meet goals.
Assist with workforce readiness measures
Assist grant coordinator with required AELA orientations, intakes, assessments, and progress measures/outcomes required by the grant.
Transition Navigator and Process Improvement
Assist with registration, intake and assessment of incoming students.
Assist new and returning students to troubleshoot and address student needs.
Monitor ELL completion and coordinate next steps of their pathway, prioritizing college and workforce partners.
Analyze process problems and bottlenecks to make improvements.
In coordination with the Program Director and Center for Workforce Initiatives, grow partnerships and pilot ELL training on-site.
