Department/Division Purpose (brief description of main function):
The Pueblo Community College Fremont Campus exists to service Fremont and the surrounding counties with high quality education.  This includes the Federal Bureau of Prisons, local high schools, continuing education needs, and much more.

Job Summary Statement (brief summary of overall responsibility of position):

This position specifically exists to deliver comprehensive, effective leadership, supervision and direction of student services functions, to ensure the success and safety of students in enrollment, advising, financial aid, and career planning. This position reports on a day-to-day basis to the Fremont Campus Executive Dean with secondary reporting responsibility to the Vice President for Student Success and works directly with Student Success Directors on related issues. This position is responsible for the coordination of full services, including the academic advising center (Go! Zone).  This student services position serves Fremont and Custer Counties, ensuring that students can enroll in transfer degree options or career and technical pathways to prepare for transfer to four-year colleges or a career in business and industry. This position is responsible for implementing, adapting and advancing college initiatives, protocols, and practices supporting the service area and working collaboratively with Student Success Directors to ensure consistency and alignment. This position may require regular travel in the region, travel to the main campus in Pueblo on occasion, and may require work in the evenings or on the weekends in order to meet the needs of the students. You must be willing to accept these conditions in order to be considered for the position.


This position has been identified by Pueblo Community College as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Department of Education guidelines.  As a Campus Security Authority, the incumbent in this position is required to report crimes that they become aware of to the Department of Public Safety at Pueblo Community College and must attend annual training related to these responsibilities.


In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 24-50-135, this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System.


Job Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the Directors of enrollment services (i.e., Recruitment, Concurrent Enrollment, Student Outreach, Financial Aid) to develop and execute the strategy and logistics necessary to implement and adapt consistent practices and innovative solutions that provide efficient and effective student services regardless of location.
  • Supervise, direct, and participate in the delivery of student services at PCC, primarily Fremont students, to include enrollment, advising, registration, application processing, and cashiering for all students, including hiring additional advisors during heavy registration times.
  • Supervise classified, professional, hourly, and student employees that support the delivery of student services in the region to include performance planning and evaluation, hiring, conflict resolution, training, and termination. Manages staff with responsibility and accountability for performance and results; coaches, counsels, mentors, and appraises performance.
  • Collaborate with appropriate departments for assistance and guidance with petitions for in-state tuition classification, western undergraduate exchange, veteran education assistance, student records, financial aid issues, behavior issues, concurrent enrollment and recruitment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Recruitment to identify and prepare recruitment strategies, events, and training staff to adapt and implement new recruiting initiatives, information, and processes into conversations with potential students.
  • Interact with potential students, transfer students, families and community partners via phone, in-person, email, chat, and/or other communication channels in order to secure enrollment.
  • Provide timely and accurate information, advise and guide potential students regarding educational programs, financial options, and resources to achieve educational and career goals.   Introduce and familiarize potential students with proprietary resources/tools available to them in order to make sound decisions and prepare them for success.
  • Utilize Navigate to document, facilitate, as well as coordinate processes, activities, communication, enrollment and advising to include tutoring, testing, and disability services for all students within the region.
  • Collaborate with the Division of Student Success on initiatives such as new student orientation, graduation planning, recruitment, activities, student government, and special events.
  • This position may also serve as advisor to other campus clubs as needed.
  • Ensure student support services: (e.g. academic career guidance, tutoring, mentoring) are accessible and that students are clearly aware of services available to them.
  • Collaborate with Directors within the Division of Student Success to identify and deliver impactful retention events to be offered in the service area.
  • Participate in the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) for student concerns and other issues.
  • Act as first contact regarding student behaviors and mental health needs and facilitate PCC procedures as needed.
  • Assists students, staff, and faculty on proper policies and procedures of PCC.  This position will act as the Title IX Coordinator on the PCC Fremont Campus.
  • Collaborate with Executive Dean as well as the Director of Academic Services to follow processes, CCCS policies, and PCC Operational Protocols and Procedures are implemented, to ensure consistent access and delivery of services regardless of the location of the student.
  • Provide support for student voice, equity, diversity and inclusion. Mentoring and advising the Student Ambassador and Associated Student Government officers in their activities to ensure campus-wide participation.
  • Support a range of related projects focused on ensuring College Leadership is hearing from and collaborating with students from historically marginalized communities, such efforts may include starting clubs or activities related to food insecurity, childcare, and I.D.E.A Committee.
  • Attend, lead, and or participate in community outreach events as needed.
  • Assist students, staff, and faculty on proper policies and procedures of PCC.

  • Assesses individual and department work processes and recommends improvements.
  • Complies with System and College protocols and departmental procedures.
  • Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required.
  • Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline.
  • Serves on committees and other groups as assigned.
