Description

The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring an Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Student Affairs to join our Academic & Student Affairs team. CCCS provides generous leave, excellent benefits, and flexible work schedules, including hybrid-remote work within the state of Colorado.

In this role, you will provide leadership related to all aspects of Student Affairs, strategic enrollment management, student technology components, and student organization functions including the State Student Advisory Council (SSAC). The person in this position provides the strategic leadership aligned to the CCCS Strategic Plan in the area of “Education for All”, specifically equity, access, and inclusion as gaps are identified in our overall strategic enrollment management. You will work collaboratively with colleges and system staff and support colleges in their efforts to achieve equity in student outcomes and student success.

Examples of Duties

  • Provide leadership, direction, and advocacy for the development of student success initiatives across the system. Promote the adoption of promising practices for student success and equity in outcomes, especially with Strategic Enrollment Management.
  • In partnership with IT, provide leadership for the continued development and enhancement of student affairs-related IT modules included, but not limited to Banner, EAB Navigate and Campus, DegreeWorks, etc. Represent Student Affairs on selected IT committees and work groups.
  • Advise the Statewide Student Advisory Council (SSAC). Work to strengthen SSAC’s advisory role and elevate SSAC’s position statewide. Attend monthly SSAC meetings and the annual Student Advocacy Conference.
  • Provide leadership and support for all statewide Student Affairs events. These events include, but are not limited to, the Annual Student Affairs Conference, the Annual Student Leadership Conference, the Annual Rising Stars Award Ceremony, and the Annual PTK Ceremony.
  • Respond to student complaints and inquiries received in the System Office, to college inquires and requests for assistance, and to System Office inquires and requests for assistance related to student affairs.
  • Develop and support a Restorative Justice approach to student conduct. Provide ongoing training to college conduct officers.
  • Monitor federal and state regulations and legislation related to student affairs, equity, and inclusion, and assist colleges in maintaining compliance with new requirements. Develop and deliver training as needed to support colleges in maintaining compliance.
  • Supervise System Office Financial Aid, Enrollment Management, and Veterans Affairs staff.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of senior-level experience in Student Affairs that includes experience at a community college.
