Print Reading for Residential & Commercial (AEC 107), 3 Credit Hours
In-person delivery, Littleton Campus, Tuesday and Thursday, 1 PM – 2:30 PM
This course teaches students to interpret construction documents produced by residential or commercial architects and used in the construction industry. Covers scale, construction math, line types and symbols, freehand technical sketching, orthographic projection, dimensioning, and construction material identification. Students will also read and interpret specific plans for reinforced concrete, structural steel framing, stud framing, finishing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, masonry and welding.
Building Materials (AEC 116), 3 Credit Hours
In-person delivery, Littleton Campus, Monday and Wednesday, 3 PM – 4:30 PM
This course covers the evaluation, testing, referencing, codes and zoning ordinances for construction materials including concrete, masonry, stone, ceramics, metals, wood and plastics. Also covers thermal and moisture protection for buildings, roofing, drainage, doors, windows, builder's hardware, and various finishes
Part-time Instructors provide instructional duties for the College in their respective areas of expertise. They report to the department chair within the discipline and do not have any supervisory responsibilities. Instructional delivery may include face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Possible teaching locations include Littleton, Parker, and Castle Rock campuses; classes may be held days, evenings, and weekends.
