The Red Rocks Community College Biology Department is seeking enthusiastic professionals that have a passion for teaching and helping students succeed in their chosen field. A successful candidate creates a classroom climate that encourages learning.
Part-time Instructors provide instructional duties for the College in their respective areas of expertise. They report to the department chair within the discipline and do not have any supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties. Instructional delivery may include face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Classes may be held days, evenings, and weekends.
The instructor must be patient and respectful, while also providing their expectations for what is considered acceptable work. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as the goals of the program.
This posting will be used to fill multiple part-time Instructor vacancies. Finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online courses.
Positions are available for teaching BIO 2102 (Human Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab).
Essential Responsibilities
Develop lectures, activities, and assessments that lead students to the successful attainment of identified course competencies.
Teach assigned classes in keeping with community college philosophy.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and grading of students in the college learning management system-Desire2Learn (D2L).
One week prior to the first day of class, provide the Faculty Lead with a copy of the course syllabus
Provide students with an accessible syllabus for the course that includes all necessary components of the RRCC syllabus insert, student learning outcomes, and a tentative course schedule.
Conduct student evaluations of instruction in accordance with established policies and procedures at the end of the semester

• Spring 2024 BIO 2102 Human Anatomy and Physiology II w/Lab MW 9:30am - 10:45am and MW 1:00p.m. - 3:45p.m..
**Payment is based on the credit hour/contact hour and class ratio as assigned to you by the department chair. RRCC starts at $1572.86/credit hour including lab.
