Academic Support Coordinator

The Academic Support Coordinator assists the Director of Academic Support in the general operation of a comprehensive tutoring program at all ACC campuses and online, including promotion and assessment of services offered. This position serves as the Advancing Academic Achievement (AAA) Program Co-Chair and the AAA Concurrent Enrollment (CE) Liaison.

The Coordinator assists the Director of Academic Support with hiring and training tutors in all areas. Runs reports from Navigate for each tutoring area and ensures tutors are scheduled at appropriate times. Tracks usage of the online tutoring and writing lab programs. Plans, schedules, and presents workshops to students and contacts students receiving academic alerts. Works with Disability Access Services and Elevate to connect tutors with students with disabilities. Assists at the Academic Support Welcome Desk, helps students schedule appointments, and tutors students as needed. An occasional evening and/or Saturday may be required.

This position assists the First Year Programs Manager on annual course schedule production and ensures accuracy of the syllabus. Performs classroom observations, reviews student evaluations, and assesses AAA student learning outcomes. Teaches at least one AAA 1001 course each semester and serves as the primary contact to AAA CE instructors, provides course materials, attends relevant CE meetings and training sessions, and observes one class per academic year per CE instructor.
