Department/Division Purpose (brief description of main function):

Pueblo Community College's Pueblo Corporate College specializes in workforce training programs including customized Corporate Training to meet organizations' specific needs, Professional Development geared toward the individual who looks to increase his or her skills or maintain a credential, and Lifelong Learning to provide community members with personal enrichment opportunities. This position specifically exists to maintain, transport, operate, and track the maintenance of department vehicles, trailers, classrooms, equipment, and mobile learning labs. This position will coordinate with the operations team on the maintenance, repair, and logistics for the mechanical systems, electrical systems, welding, and manufacturing classrooms and mobile learning labs that support the entire state, ensuring that the industrial grade technical trainers are setup and functioning properly and that class supplies and consumables are available for classes. This position will require some travel for delivery and setup of mobile learning labs across Colorado. This position maintains the department’s fleet of vehicles, trailers, and mobile labs. This position is responsible to ensure driver and DOT compliance for drivers and vehicles, including the Drug and Alcohol policy, procedures, and random drug screening. In this capacity, it is vital that this position have real world experience of industrial maintenance and is adaptable to change to meet the continuously changing needs of our customer base. This position will primarily be an on-campus position on the Pueblo campus but may have flexibility for some remote work or flexible scheduling. This position needs a self-motivated and dynamic individual that can manage in a fast-paced role, work with little direction in a variety of tasks, where every day looks different.

 

Job Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates with instruction team members, plans and supervises the setup of technical classroom activities including assembling equipment, preparing industrial grade training simulators, and gathering or preparing classroom materials and supplies; supervises the disassembling for disassembles lab simulations.
  • Transports, sets up and operates the mobile learning labs and/or industrial grade training equipment per customer’s needs. Delivers and fuels mobile learning labs while on-site at client locations or arranges for a third-party vendor for fueling.
  • Performs electrical and mechanical repairs on training equipment or contacts appropriate party to perform repairs.
  • Inventories, procures and restocks supplies for corporate training classrooms and mobile labs.
  • Supervises a part-time student employee to assist with preparing for classes, delivering fuel, cleaning labs, and repairing equipment.
  • Manages the maintenance, annual inspections, fueling, registrations, fleet logs and operability schedules of fleet including vehicles, trailers, and mobile learning labs. Manages the DOT paperwork and Drug and Alcohol policies including random drug screening.
  • Assists in the design for construction of new or modifications of existing training equipment and facilities.
  • Participates in staff meetings and other administrative duties within the department.
  • Recommends new equipment for classrooms and mobile labs and assists with the annual budget development to include reserves for equipment replacement and annual maintenance costs.
  • Assists in the capturing of all expenses involved with the transporting, maintenance, and usage of the mobile learning labs for on and off campus classes.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Cleaning of classrooms, mobile labs, and welding area in the South Highbay of the GATC building.
  • Work with other departments with projects in and around the GATC building as needed.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
