Department/Division Purpose (brief description of main function):
The Financial Aid Office provides institutional, state and federal funding for students to complete a higher education.
Job Summary Statement (brief summary of overall responsibility of position):

This position specifically exists to: This full-time position reports to the PCC Director of Financial Aid and is responsible for providing support in the areas of assisting students in applying for and understanding the requirements of financial aid. This position will have primary responsibility for coordinating the Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) program to include running reports to identify students that have withdrawn, performing R2T4 calculations, adjusting aid on the Banner computer system and notifying students and/or the Department of Education of overpayments. This position will also have responsibility for coordinating the Scholarship program including awarding and tracking scholarships. This position will also be responsible for limited verification of student financial aid files and certification of student loan applications following Department of Education regulations.  This positions requires the incumbent to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekend hours, in order to effectively meet student needs.

In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 24-50-135, this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System.

 

Job Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) program including running reports in Banner and COGNOS to identify students that have withdrawn, performing R2T4 calculations by adhering to the Department of Education (DOE) rules and regulations as well as CCCS system policy on R2T4, adjusting aid on the Banner computer system to return unearned funds within the specified timeframe, and notifying students and/or the DOE of grant overpayments.
  • Coordinates the Scholarship program including awarding and tracking scholarships.  Partners with PCC’s Foundation to assist with scholarship recipient selection.
  • Responsible for assisting students in the processing of financial aid applications, counseling students concerning financial aid procedures, application deadlines, satisfactory academic progress requirements, effects of enrollment changes, etc.
  • Responsible for verification of student financial aid data by reviewing submitted information for completeness and accuracy according to financial aid regulations. Make corrections to student data using Banner computer system and/or "FAA Access to CPS on the Web".

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for obtaining/reviewing daily and weekly reports of processes to ensure students' aid is in compliance with regulations.
  • Records and monitor all additional financial resources received by the students and verify eligibility to assure awards do not exceed need.
  • Serves on college committees and community service committees as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
