The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Fiscal General Accountant to join our Finance team at System Office. In this role you will provide expertise, analysis, and coordination of all payroll accounting information for the financial management of the CCCS System Office and the colleges. You will be the primary organizer and initiator of all payroll activity that impacts finance and ensure that the movement of cash is timely and accurate to cover all payroll-related payments and processes. Additionally, you will be the main person to record all accounts receivable transactions for the System Office.

Duties Include:

• Processes the bi-weekly payroll (and acts as back-up for monthly processing) by running system jobs and encumbrance release processing for all colleges and the System Office.
• Prepares and enters all accounting journals related to bi-weekly payroll in the systems of record (Banner and CORE) specifically for the System Office.
• Receives the initial notice to process all off-cycle payroll transactions and corrections from Central Payroll, processes system jobs to post off-cycle transactions from the subledger to the general ledger, initiates a standard checklist and organizes all paperwork for processing by the System Accountant.
• Receives bank batches from Central Payroll, ensures all paperwork for support of payment has been obtained, validates amounts of the bank batches, and routes to Chief Accountant for final authorization.
• Answers questions and provides support and feedback to the Central Payroll office and college payroll personnel.
• Works closely with the Lowry Conference Center Manager in order to ensure proper record keeping of all accounts receivable balances per customer account.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional experience in accounting or a related field.
