The Colorado Community College System is hiring a Program Director of Engineering, Technology, and Media Arts (ETMA) to join our Career & Technical Education (CTE) department at the CCCS System Office. In this position you’ll assist institutions with the development and management of secondary and postsecondary CTE programs by providing leadership and expertise in the development and coordination of CTE curriculum. You’ll coordinate training and mentoring opportunities for CTE faculty and administrators and facilitate content committees for secondary and postsecondary faculty to develop standards for CTE programs. Your work includes assisting with the implementation of career pathways and plans of study that provide a seamless transition from secondary to postsecondary programs. This position also assists with the development of local advisory committees and student organizations.

The Colorado Community College System’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) team serves approximately 2,000 CTE programs at the middle, high school, and postsecondary level across Colorado, including approximately 179 school districts, 20 community colleges, and public entities such as the Department of Corrections. Duties Include:

  • Review and recommend CTE programs for revision and renewal based on high quality standards that relate to quality indicators such as program of study, work-based learning, and student leadership organizations.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with career and technical education faculty and administrators at secondary and postsecondary institutions.
  • Supervise and support Assistant Program Director/CTSO Advisor in developing strong student organizations, which could include financial analysis support, event planning, industry, and business connections. Directly supervise program assistant.
  • Provide leadership in the field (schools, districts, teachers, etc.) in planning, developing, and updating standards, competencies, and curriculum. Assist with the development of local advisory committees for secondary and postsecondary programs.
  • Represent CCCS on various statewide committees, task forces, and professional organizations as assigned. Meet with local groups (school boards, school teams, advisory groups, etc.) to discuss career and technical education program development issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field, related to business area(s).
  • Three years relevant experience, such as ETMA educator, administrator, or post-secondary ETMA education background.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado career and technical education credential.
