Description

The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a System Grant Accountant to join our Finance team. In this position you’ll provide leadership, training, development, management and coordination of all aspects of fiscal compliance of our CO-Helps and CO-Tech federal grant awards. You’ll also offer expertise and analysis of accounting grant information within the CCCS System Office. NOTE: This position is full-time, term-limited until July 2023 with a transition to being a part-time position after that until February 2024.

Duties Include:

  • Providing primary review of CO-Helps and CO-Tech fiscal reimbursement requests, including transfer entries between CCCS and System Colleges. Understanding and applying other applicable federal regulations that govern the spending of federal dollars such as EDGAR, Uniform Grant Guidance, and Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA), to internal and external grant spending. Determining allowable/unallowable costs per the Uniform Grant Guidance and EDGAR.
  • Maintaining grant fiscal guidance and guidance documents (reporting and reimbursement forms, etc.).
  • Deploying processes to distribute funds (including business reimbursements) to CCCS colleges for program development. Managing distributions and reimbursements to other institutes of higher education and reporting for the CO-Helps and CO-Tech grants.
  • Applying state regulations and fiscal rules that govern the spending of state dollars to internal and external grant spending. Reviewing internal spending of CO-Helps and CO-Tech Administration to ensure compliance and facilitating discussion with grant sub-recipients for maintenance of compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assisting in training sub-recipients on allowable/unallowable costs, indirect costs, and reimbursement request preparation.
  • Managing policies and procedures regarding capital equipment and sensitive expenditures to remain in compliance with fiscal rules and federal regulations.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of accounting experience.
  • Grant management and/or compliance experience.
