Summary of Position
Red Rocks Community College seeks applications for a full-time Administrative Faculty Director to join our department. The Program Director is responsible for oversight of the Physician Assistant department. The successful candidate will be comfortable directly supervising all operational and academic personnel including faculty, medical director, and staff in the program.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsible for ongoing successful accreditation including oversight of all accreditation activities: submission of reports, site visits, and program assessment. Responsible for effective delivery of the depth and breadth of curriculum needed to train competent Physician Assistants and the planning, development, delivery, and review of the curriculum.
Administration:
Responsible for organization and administration of the Physician Assistant program. Oversees continuous improvement and assessment of the Physician Assistant program. Directs all planning and budgeting for the Physician Assistant program Responsible for the development and general effectiveness of the Physician Assistant Program.
Supervision:
Daily supervision and evaluation of academic faculty (both full-time and part-time), clinical team, staff, and students. Lead assessment amongst the faculty and clinical team in the PA program.
Instruction: Teach day, evening, or weekend courses and/or teach in any modality including in-person classroom-based courses, hybrid, remote, hyflex, concurrent, or online, ensuring that all courses meet the approved course outcomes and outlines. Instruction duties and responsibilities center on teaching excellence, which can include:
- Teach the program curriculum as appropriate, including didactic and/or clinical courses in the PA program.
- Learning and applying culturally responsive education and inclusive learning environments into classroom instruction and curriculum.
- Demonstrating equity and inclusion skills that are measurable, student-focused, and support equity in achieving learning outcomes.
Service: Service includes fulfilling the mission and goals of the College outside of the classroom. These may include but are not limited to:
- Advocacy by participating in policy-making and legislative, professional, and continuing education activities relevant to PA education and the PA profession at the national, state, and regional levels.
- Departmental service, including curriculum coordination and development.
Professional development activities are a part of service. Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining clinical expertise by keeping current expertise in the field, committing to continuous improvement in teaching and best practices in higher education as related to college initiatives.
- Participating in department, divisional, college, and national PA professional development and service activities.
- Best practices in higher education as related to college initiatives.
- Professional Development: A commitment to ongoing professional development, including staying current with developments in the field, and participating in training opportunities, is important for maintaining excellence in teaching and mentoring.
